Our Story.SASE UCalgary is the first Canadian and international chapter of SASE. Along with over 100 university chapters spread all across North America, we are proud to be part of an enormous network of nearly a million Asian-heritage college students, scientists, engineers, and professionals, and 70+ national sponsors.
At a local level, SASE UCalgary is one of the University of Calgary's most promising and fastest-growing organizations - having experienced a membership growth rate of 965% in just 8 months. Currently, we have 705 members and five industry partners. |
What is SASE?The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) was founded in November 2007 to help Asian heritage scientific and engineering professionals achieve their full potential in their careers. We offer professional development events, research and industry mixers, community service events, and some fun-filled Asian cultural events to students across several universities in the United States and Canada. Our Mission.SASE is dedicated to the advancement of Asian heritage scientists and engineers in education and employment so that they can achieve their full career potential. In addition to professional development, SASE also encourages members to contribute to the enhancement of the communities in which they live.

Who We Are.
We are SASE UCalgary's 2023-2024 Executive Board. We are a diverse group of students who come from many nationalities, genders and majors.
Our job is to uphold SASE's vision and core values. We want to ensure that the University of Calgary's scientists and engineers of Asian heritage feel supported, empowered, and are able to reach their full potential.

AltaLink is Alberta’s largest regulated electricity transmission company. Altalink's transmission system is the essential link that connects homes, farms, businesses and industries to the electricity generated across Alberta. The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Alberta, also known as APEGA is the governing body of engineers and geoscientists in Alberta. They regulate the practices of engineers and geoscience, as well as sets the industry standards. As a STEM Club, we appreciate our partnership with APEGA.

WSP Global is an environmental consulting company and is one of the largest engineering and professional services firms in the world. They provide services for various industries such as energy, property, transportation, and infrastructure.
Mosaic is the world’s leading producer of potash and is a powerhouse exporter with 95% of potash leaving Canada. Potash is essential in fertilizer, helping farmers around the globe which improves soil health and increase crop yields.
