SASE UCalgary is the first-ever international and Canadian chapter of SASE - a massive network of 100+ collegiate chapters and over a million professionals and STEM students spread across North America. SASE is nationally supported by over 100 sponsors.

In May 2023, SASE UCalgary was 3 people (Shannon Wong (President), Angie Shin (Vice President Finance), Vanessa Ochoa (Vice President External)), 73 general members, and a mission.

A mission to help students enrich their university experience - academically, professionally, and socially - through an impressive range of unique and game-changing events critical to empowering future leaders.

SASE's rapid rise has been nothing short of extraordinary.
With an incredible 2000% growth in just 2 years, SASE UCalgary has
soared to over 1600 members, 13 retail partners, 3 sponsors, and 5
industry partners - cementing it as UCalgary's fastest-growing student club.
We've gone from unknown to unmissable - a recognized force on campus.
We've built a reputation for quality, connection, and innovation. Our initiatives cross disciplines.
Our 20+ events have featured a diverse array of speakers, activities, and topics.

And our momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

The SASE community is warm, welcoming, and full of energy. One of the ways we've managed to foster such a special, awesome space is our unique approach to using Asian food and culture to enhance and elevate the SASE experience. To us, culture is a powerful way to bring about togetherness, inclusivity, and joy. Culture unites, creates memories, and forges friendships. In other words, it includes - and which is exactly what we want SASE to be!
