Our story.

Our origin story.

The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) was founded in November 2007 to help Asian-heritage science and engineering professionals achieve their full potential in their careers. SASE is North America’s largest network of Asian scientists, engineers, and professionals - connecting over a million professionals across 106+ collegiate chapters spread across the United States and Canada. SASE is nationally supported by over 100 sponsors.

SASE is dedicated towards helping students enrich their university experience academically, professionally, and socially through events such as professional development events, networking nights, community service initiatives, and diversity-focused events.

Us today.

SASE UCalgary is SASE’s first-ever international and Canadian chapter.

With an incredible growth of 1300% in a single year, SASE UCalgary has soared to over 1000+ members, making it one of the largest University of Calgary clubs and the fastest-growing club in its history.

From jam-packed events featuring a diverse array of speakers, activities, and topics, to a remarkable expansion in SASE UCalgary’s network to 8 retail partners, 3 sponsors, and 5 industry partners, our extraordinary growth is a testament to our value and enduring popularity with the student community.

We’re going big(ger).

This year, we’re going to do a whole lot more.

Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of being able to meet and interact with many individuals of our student community through our events, fairs, and initiatives. We’ve gotten a lot of suggestions and comments from many of our student members about what they’d like to see more of, and we listened!

In the 2024-2025 school year, we’ll be unveiling a new, improved version of SASE UCalgary. This is a time you won’t want to miss. SASE UCalgary is in a transformative, exciting stage, and we want you to be a part of the change with us.
